Week 1 – September 9th – Mary

Read Luke 1:30-45

As humans we have things we hope for; blessings we ask God to bestow upon us. What are we to make of blessings that are astoundingly bigger than anything we could have asked for or imagined? Mary is just a young virgin betrothed to Joseph. Why her? God could have picked anyone. What makes her so deserving of such a gift? What a leap of faith it is to accept a blessing that you are not sure you’re qualified to receive!

Sarah was given a promise from God that seemed impossible. Because of her husband’s relationship with God she began to wait; but Sarah became weary in her waiting. Read Matthew 14:15-33

A bold, brash, hard-working fisherman, Peter was nevertheless part of Jesus’ inner circle and one of the first called to follow him.
